Red Light Citations

Red Light Citations are issued by the Automated Enforcement Division of the Howard County Department of Police (410-313-3216).

Payment Options:

• Mail check, money order or cashier’s check made payable to Director of Finance to Howard County Maryland, Department of Finance, PO Box 37236, Baltimore, MD 21297-3236.
  
  
• For a fee, citations can be paid on line (click here) by credit card (VISA, Master Card, American Express, or Discover). Use jurisdiction code 3001.
  
  
• For a fee, citations can be paid over the telephone using a credit card (VISA, Master Card, American Express, or Discover) by calling 1-800-272-9829. Use jurisdiction code 3001.
  
  
• In person at the Department of Finance, Cashier’s Office on the 1st floor of the Ascend One Building, 8930 Stanford Blvd. Columbia, MD. Payments can be made by credit card (VISA, Master Card, American Express, or Discover), along with debit cards and checks.
  
  

Include citation number or tag number with payment.

If your tag has been flagged from Department of Motor Vehicles, and you require a VR119 release, personal checks will not be accepted.
