The questions for each section have been included here from a survey distributed at the open house meetings. Please take a moment to read through and respond as you wish.
Chapter 1: Making a Special Place. What makes Columbia a special place for you? What needs to be improved or changed in Downtown to make it a more vibrant place?
Chapter 2: Moving and Connecting People. What pedestrian improvements are your top priorities? What changes in transportation choices would you most like to see and would you most likely use? (Walk more, ride a bike, take a bus or shuttle, park-once in a parking garage, or other?)
Chapter 3: Sustaining the Environment. What, if anything, should be done to fulfill Symphony Woods’ potential as Columbia’s “Central Park”? What conservation measures or design features would you most like to see in Symphony Woods? What types of open spaces and public areas do you most want to see added to Downtown? (Natural areas, active parks, plazas, gardens, village greens, pedestrian promenades, or other?)
Chapter 4: Balancing and Phasing Growth. What amenities, infrastructure improvements and public facilities are priorities for you? What kind of monitoring do you think is needed?
Chapter 5: Involving Everyone. How would you prefer to continue to be involved? Do you think an entity like a Downtown Partnership is needed to maintain the Downtown area and program activities? If so, what groups should be partners?
Appendices: Is there anything that should be added or changed?
