WOMEN'S HEALTH

The Howard County Health Department provides a variety of Women's Health Services to include various confidential and preventative health care for women and adolescents. Weekly maternity and family planning clinics are based on a sliding fee scale and are available by appointment. Eligible pregnant women are also encouraged to appy to WIC.

Home visiting case management services are also offered for high risk patients. Services provided at no charge include pregnancy testing, HIV testing and counseling, sexually transmitted disease treatment, emergency contraception, pap screening and abnormal pap follow-up, and health education. Breast exams and mammograms are available for income eligible women over forty years of age.
