Ulman Extends Public Input for Future Town Center Development

ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Howard County Executive Ken Ulman announced today that the month-long public input period for future downtown Columbia development would be extended through November 16, 2007. “I am pleased that our framework has been well received and people have taken their time to review and offer comments. I have heard that some members of the community would like additional time for reflection and input beyond the deadline, and I am happy to grant the extension,” said County Executive Ulman.

The current schedule of six public events for input, two of which have already occurred, would remain the same; however, members of the public have the opportunity to submit comments on the web, by email, by letter or in person to the Department of Planning & Zoning through the end of the day on Friday, November 16, 2007.

Upcoming public events are as follows:

  • October 20, 2007- Presentation and discussion of Downtown Columbia: A Community Vision for the Columbia Association and Village Boards, 3430 Courthouse Drive, George Howard Bldg, Banneker Room, Ellicott City, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
