Special Daytime FY09 Citizens’ Budget Hearing to be held at Ellicott City Senior Center

ELLICOTT CITY, MD – At the request of County Executive Ken Ulman, Chief Administrative Officer Lonnie Robbins and Budget Administrator Ray Wacks will join him at a special citizens’ budget hearing on Tuesday, February 19 at 1 p.m., at the Ellicott City Senior Center, 9401 Frederick Road in Ellicott City. The County Executive has scheduled this special hearing to give residents who may find it difficult to attend the usual nighttime budget hearings, an opportunity to share their budget priorities and concerns at a more convenient time of day.

Sign-up for those wishing to testify will begin at 12:30 p.m., and testimony will be heard on a first-to-sign-up, first-to-speak basis. For those residents who would like to present their testimony via the internet, the form is available on-line from the home page of the County’s web site, www.howardcountymd.gov. Citizens are reminded that testimony submitted via the internet is considered public information and, as such, is subject to the Freedom of Information Act.

A sign language interpreter may be requested for the meeting by calling the Department of Citizen Services, 410-313-6400 or 410-313-6401 (TTY) at least five days in advance.

The County Executive will hold his final Citizens’ Budget Hearing for the FY2009 budget cycle on Thursday, March 6 at 7:30 p.m., in the Banneker Room of the George Howard Building.
