TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS & INFORMATION

Howard Transit

The Office on Aging is the principal agency for the certification of Howard Transit's HTRide/Paratransit service for older people. Seniors, or people age 50 and older with a disability, can call Maryland Access Point (MAP) at (410) 313-5980 to complete the certification process. The certification process is free. People can use HTRide for a variety of destinations, including medical appointments and senior centers for a small fee. For more information, contact MAP or email map@howardcountymd.gov

Howard Transit/CTC also provides an ADA paratransit service for people with disabilities who cannot use the regular bus service. For more information, or to obtain an application for the ADA service, call (410) 313-3707.

Community Transportation Options

Howard County offers several other private transportation options to seniors. Some include:

Columbia Association Senior Events Shuttle
www.columbiaassociation.org

The Columbia Association offers a free curb-to-curb evening and weekend shuttle to cultural events throughout Howard County for groups of 4 or more adults ages 60 and over. To request a ride, please call (410) 715-3087.

Neighbor Ride
www.neighborride.org

Neighbor Ride, a volunteer-based service for Howard County residents age 60 and over, provides transportation for social events, classes, medical appointments, religious services, shopping and other day-to-day activities. Contact Neighbor Ride at (410) 884-7433 or email community@neighborride.org for more information or to register as a passenger.
