Police Officer of the Month

November 2003

PFC Stephen Craig has been selected as Police Officer of the month for November 2003. PFC Craig demonstrated a high degree of initiative and dedication during the month. Below are some of his noteworthy accomplishments.

On November 1st, PFC Craig stopped a vehicle for having no front tag attached. The operator of the vehicle was suspended.

On November 2nd, PFC Craig stopped a vehicle for a seatbelt violation and found the vehicle to be unregistered.

On November 2nd, PFC Craig was dispatched to a motorcycle complaint off Mission Road. PFC Craig currently has an open C.O.P. Project (03-13) dealing with the motorcycles. PFC Craig located two juveniles who were riding on the roadway without proper registrations and licenses and arrested the juveniles and charged them with the motor vehicle violations.

On November 11th, PFC Craig was on routine patrol when he observed a suspicious vehicle parked at the dead end of Old Scaggsville Road. PFC Craig approached the vehicle and occupants and observed that they were engaged in CDS activity. PFC Craig subsequently searched the vehicle and subjects and located CDS and CDS paraphernalia. PFC Craig arrested all four occupants of the vehicle.

On November 15th, PFC Craig stopped a vehicle for a registration violation and found the driver to be suspended.

On November 15th, PFC Craig and other officers were dispatched to the area of Savage Guilford Road for a possible abduction. Passing motorists observed the suspect drag a female into his vehicle and leave the area. The vehicle and suspect were located. The suspect and occupant had been having a domestic argument. PFC Craig recovered a large hunting type knife, which was concealed in the driver’s door. The driver was arrested on the concealed deadly weapon violation.

PFC Stephen Craig continues to work on a Community Policing Project involving motorcycle complaints off Mission Road. He has met with citizens of that community to address their concerns and is actively taking enforcement measures.

PFC Craig is described as a highly motivated officer. PFC Craig is routinely assigned to different beats within the Edward area, and handles the beat assignments without complaint. PFC Craig is a team player and frequently assists other squad members.

For the reasons outlined above, PFC Stephen Craig has been selected as Police Officer of the month for November.

Congratulations and keep up the good work!
