POLICE OFFICER OF THE MONTH

August 2007

PO Jeremy Duncan

Chief William McMahon selected Police Officer Jeremy Duncan as Police Officer of the Month for August 2007. During the month of August, Officer Duncan handled over 65 calls for service, had 11 total arrests and 100 written traffic contacts.

On August 7, Officer Duncan responded to a business alarm at a swim club. Upon arrival, he located approximately 10 subjects inside the pool area after hours. Investigation revealed the subjects had broken into the snack bar and stolen food and beverages. Ten subjects were charged with the incident.

On August 8, Officer Duncan responded to a breaking and entering in progress, where the homeowner had confronted two suspects as they walked up her stairway. Officer Duncan meticulously processed the crime scene and successfully lifted several latent prints. Crime lab was able to identify a suspect from the prints and an arrest warrant was issued. Identification allowed CIB to pursue the arrest and other leads possibly linking the suspect to additional breaking and entering cases.

Officer Duncan is proactive and focuses his enforcement efforts on traffic enforcement. He is diligent in pursuing follow-ups, investigative leads and criminal enforcement, which had resulted in the closure of several criminal investigations.
