Officer of the Month

November 2007

PFC Phillip Mullinix

Chief William McMahon selected PFC Phillip Mullinix as Police Officer of the Month for November 2007. During the month of November, Mullinix handled ten insight reports, fourteen arrests, six field-interrogation reports and seventy-three traffic contacts. Some of his November highlights include the following:

Mullinix responded to a domestic assault in progress. The male suspect fled prior to officers’ arrival after threatening a female with a handgun at the residence. Officers located the suspect and seized the gun and shell discharged during the altercation. The suspect was arrested and charged accordingly.

In another incident, Mullinix located a vehicle where suspicious subjects were observed videotaping the entrance to the Columbia Mall. After identifying, photographing and interviewing the subjects, Mullinix discovered one subject had an expired visa. Mullinix obtained the videotape in question and forwarded all intelligence to Maryland Coordination and Analysis Center.

In November, Mullinix responded to Arbitron to investigate an internal theft and embezzlement. His investigation led to an application for charges after he discovered a former employee had used a company credit card to illegally purchase goods and services in excess of $9,000.

During the month of November Mullinix also assisted with academy practicals, off-duty surveillance details and acted as a field training officer.

Congratulations PFC Mullinix for a job well done!
