Officer of the Month May 2008 DFC Daniel Christianson Chief William McMahon selected Detective First Class Daniel Christianson as Police Officer of the Month for May. During the month of May, Christianson, who is assigned to the warrant/fugitive section, had an impressive 34 criminal arrests, 71 warrant attempts, 24 prisoner transports and 16 special assignment hours. He also served four domestic violence warrants and five drug court warrants. Christianson is responsible for all drug court warrants assigned to the section. The department has received positive comments and correspondence from the State’s Attorney’s Office and the Honorable Judge Axel regarding his relentless pursuit of drug court violators. Christianson often turns limited information about a suspect’s whereabouts into an arrest. In one example, he was assigned a warrant for a subject wanted on a second-degree burglary case. The suspect did not have a place of employment nor did he have a solid address where he could be found. Christianson was able to identify associates of the suspect and from there, was able to determine a location in Columbia where the suspect could be located. Surveillance was set-up on the location and after a couple of hours the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
Christianson’s dedication and quality of work during the month of May is an example of the kind of work he consistently performs each and every day. Congratulations to him on his selection as Police Officer of the Month for May 2008! |
