Bike Patrol

The Bike Patrol Program is active within the two patrol districts as a very effective and versatile tool. Bike Patrol is especially useful in Columbia’s unique expanse of footpaths, open space, lakefronts and parks. One of the program’s officers is currently a certified bike instructor who has instructed other officers in the program. Last year the department hosted a bike school, certifying 10 new officers. The department currently has 25 certified bike officers.
