DESIGN ADVISORY PANEL

Function:

Provide expert advice to the Department of Planning and Zoning regarding plans for new development and redevelopment in designated areas where there is a Design Manual that is adopted by the County Council including, without Limitation, the U.S. Route 1 Corridor or in age-restricted adult housing permitted by conditional use; and encourage excellence in architecture and site design, to improve design compatibility with surrounding development, to promote revitalization and to enhance property values.

Number of Members:

7
Each member must be in Professional Architecture, Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, or a related field. At least 2 shall be architects licensed in Maryland; at least one shall be a Civil Engineer who is licensed in Maryland; at least one shall be a landscape architect who is licensed in Maryland; and at least one shall be an urban planner.

The panel meets twice a month; the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at 8930 Stanford Blvd., Columbia, MD 21045.
