HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION

Function:

To safeguard the architectural and landscape heritage of local county historic districts by review and approval of exterior changes of structures and site character and to review applications for historic preservation property tax credits for historic properties throughout the county.

Number of Members:

7
All must be Howard County residents with each historic district represented by at least one resident or property owner.

Appointed by:

County Executive appoints. County Council confirms.

Meetings:

First Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Tyson Room, George Howard Building, 3430 Court House Drive, Ellicott City, MD 21043.
