BOARD TO PROMOTE SELF SUFFICIENCY

Function:

Support the goal of the Human Services Plan to build a community that enables individuals and families to have adequate income and resources to meet their basic needs and; to act as a planning and coordinating mechanism for initiatives to promote economic stability of individuals and families and; to reduce the incidence of poverty on Howard County.

Number of Members:

20-27
With a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 27 appointed members, the board shall consist of a majority of private sector representation and a minority of public sector representation.

Appointed by:

County Executive appoints. County Council confirms.

Meetings:

The board meets on the 4th Thursday of every month at 8:30 a.m. on the 5th floor of the Executive Conference Room of the Gateway building located at 6751 Columbia Gateway Drive, Columbia, MD 21046.
