The Glenwood Community Center, will be closed on Sept. 1, Nov. 27, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. The center will close at 5 pm on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.

Inclement Weather Policy: If Howard County schools open one hour late, the center will open at 9:30 am.; if two hours late, at 10:30 am. If schools are closed due to inclement weather, every attempt will be made to open the center by 10:30 a.m. Please call the inclement weather number to confirm the center's status when schools are closed.

From Columbia:
Take Route 29 North to Route 70 West. Proceed and exit at Route 97 South. After crossing Frederick Road (Route 144) travel about a mile and you'll see the center on the right in close proximity to the Glenwood Library.
From Olney:
Take Route 97 North past Carrs Mill stop light. Make a left into the Glenwood Library and Community Center parking lot.
From Baltimore:
Take 95 South towards Washington and exit on 695 towards Towson. Take Route 70 West and continue beyond Route 32. Take Route 97 South. After crossing Frederick Road (Route 144) travel about a mile and you'll see the center on the right in close proximity to the Glenwood Library.
From Frederick:
Take 70 East towards Baltimore and exit 97 South towards Cooksville/Olney. After crossing Frederick Road (Route 144) travel about a mile and you'll see the center on the right in close proximity to the Glenwood Library.
From Washington:
Take 95 North to 29 North. Exit Route 70 West to Route 97 South. After crossing Frederick Road (Route 144)travel about a mile and you'll see the center on the right in close proximity to the Glenwood Library.
To ensure the safety of our patrons, a Center I.D. card is required to use the indoor track and participate in open gym time. There is a $5 I.D. card replacement fee for lost or stolen cards.

After-school Open Play
Bring a friend and have fun shooting baskets or taking a few laps. Center ID Required. Children ages 11-under must have supervision while in the center.

Game Room
Join your friends for some friendly fun playing either pool, ping pong or bumper pool. During afterschool hours check out the big screen television hooked up to some of the latest video games. Children ages 15-under must have adult supervision while in the game room, except for Afterschool Hours.

Drop In Basketball
Join other athletes of all ability levels for a basketball scrimmage. Games are self-officiated and site staff will help form balanced teams. Center ID required.

Indoor Family Gym Fun - New Night!
Have fun shooting baskets with family members of all ages. This open basket and indoor track time is meant for families. Children 11 and under must have adult supervision in the facility. Center ID required.

Stroller Moms
Bring a friend, your stroller and the babies for open walking time in the comfort of our three lane indoor track. Center ID required

Fitness Pass
Enjoy exercising in a relaxed, air-conditioned environment! Our facility features state of the art treadmills, elipticals, stationary bicycles, Keiser exercise equipment and free weights. This pass has no expiration date; you pay no registration fee and you receive a free orientation on equipment use. A medical clearance form and orientation must be completed prior to exercising. See fitness room schedule for open exercise times and to schedule your orientation. Senior Center members receive complimentary entry 7-10am and 1-3pm.

Teen Weight Training
Are you age 13-15 and want to work out using state of the art exercise equipment? With parental supervision and completion of this mini-course in weight training, you can. The course teaches fitness room etiquette, proper stretching, cardiovascular equipment, and proper techniques of circuit training combining weight machines and free weights. Completion of this program will allow purchase of a fitness room pass. Remember you must have adult supervision each time you work out. A Medical Clearance Form and waiver are required.

Personal Training
Everyone can benefit from a personal trainer, whether you're just getting started or a serious athlete. Our Personal Training will provide you with an individualized exercise program tailored to meet your goals and your health and fitness needs. We offer different packages to suit your specific needs. You may wish to discuss options with us to help choose the best package for you. A Medical Clearance Form is required to be completed prior to exercising. Many areas of the Glenwood Community Center are available for rent during operating hours. Rental areas can be used for parties, special events, business meetings, and other activities. All applicants must be at least 21 years of age, and a Facility Rental Request Form is required to check for availability. All requests are reviewed on a first come, first serve basis. Children’s Birthday Party Package
Looking for a place to hold your child’s next birthday party? Our party package includes your choice of the themes listed below, set up, decorations, tableware, and the perfect room to make your child’s party the hit of the year. You provide activities, food, and cleanup. Refrigerator and freezer are available on request. Party times are scheduled on Friday evenings and weekends depending on room availability. Having a hard time planning your child’s birthday party? This exciting birthday package adds a half hour of dance instruction to our Birthday Party Package. Your child can choose Ballet or Jazz. Let us help make your child’s birthday party the hit of the year. Children are encouraged to be in comfortable clothes (no dresses or skirts) and wear rubber sole shoes.
