Natural Resources Operations

Reforested AreaThe Natural Resources Operations section is responsible for the implementation of conservation and natural resource management activities as well as the enforcement of post-development environmental protection regulations, parkland rules and regulations and Howard County Forest Conservation easements.

A dedicated staff of seven is divided into four units Forest Mitigation/Reforestation; Geographic Information System (GIS) and Database Management; Natural Resource Compliance, Public Outreach, Land Acceptance and Inspections (park acquisition and open space through sub-division dedication); and Park Rangers.

The section also provides expertise in site analysis and inspections to assist with land assessment and acquisition, park development and subdivision review.
