Thank you for visiting the website of the Office of The State’s Attorney for Howard County. Though we are in the process of updating our website, it is our hope that here you will discover information that explains Maryland’s criminal justice system and the role our office plays in making Howard County one of the safer communities to live, work and visit.

As a partner in the criminal justice system representing the citizens of Howard County, our office is charged with the prosecution of criminal cases in the Circuit, District and Juvenile Courts. Our staff of over 60 prosecutors, investigators, paralegals, victim/witness coordinators and administrative staff is dedicated to the rule of law, the pursuit of justice and support for crime victims and witnesses whose involvement can make a difference in the criminal justice system.

The successful prosecution of crime in Howard County requires the support and cooperation of our citizens—whether in reporting a crime, coming forth as witness or serving upon a jury when called. With your help, together we will protect the rights and safety of the citizens of Howard County.
