PUBLIC NOTICE / NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING - Grants

The Howard County Department of Housing and Community Development invites all interested residents, community groups, agencies, and organizations to review and comment on the Environmental Review Report for the undeveloped lot located at 7525 Montevideo Road, Jessup, MD 20794. The Community Action Council of Howard County, Inc., a non-profit organization, intends to acquire the site to construct a food bank and childcare center to expand their services in the Jessup and Savage area. The Community Action currently runs the County’s food bank in Columbia and provides a range of family-centered services to low- and moderate-income households in Howard County, including HeadStart and pre-kindergarten programs for income eligible families with children, aged 3 – 5 years old. A draft of the Environmental Review Report is available for review and comment starting Friday, October 11, 2024, on the Department’s webpage at www.howardcountymd.gov/DHCD-Grants and at the Department of Housing and Community Development, 9820 Patuxent Woods Dr., Suite 224, Columbia, MD 21046.
