ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Howard County’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM) will host its next quarterly Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) public meeting virtually on Thursday, October 16th from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. For it’s October meeting, OEM will be joined by representatives from the National Weather Service to discuss the different methods of public alerting and how best to prepare for severe weather.
Held quarterly, the goal of LEPC meetings is to enhance Howard County’s preparedness and response to emergencies by involving the government, private businesses, non-profit organizations and residents in planning and preparing for natural and human-caused disasters and other incidents.
