We are in the final design review for renovations to East Columbia Library Park.
Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks invites you, your neighbors, and the public to a Public Meeting on August 27, 2025 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Howard County Department of Recreation & Parks Headquarters, conference rooms #1 & #2 (7120 Oakland Mills Road, Columbia). There will be a presentation on the park renovation design. After the presentation, the public is welcome to share their thoughts and ask questions.
Howard County aims to reduce the number of fields to two. The new fields will be irrigated natural-turf multipurpose fields. Also, the County will create a playground, build a new pavilion, and construct two lighted basketball courts. Pathways and water fountains will also be included.
Residents will be allowed to speak for up to three minutes per person. You can sign up in person to speak at the meeting, beginning at 5:30 p.m. on August 27, 2025 or online starting August 13 by visiting https://apps.howardcountymd.gov/E_RAPTestimony/. If unable to attend the meeting, you may provide online testimony (using the link above) from August 13 through August 27 at 3:00 p.m. Please note that online testimony is considered public information and is subject to the Maryland Public Information Act.
