Howard County Executive Calvin Ball has announced $22 million in funding to renovate Faulkner Ridge Center to expand universal pre-K services. Ball’s investment, in partnership with State, County, and community leaders, is a major step toward the full implementation of the State-mandated Blueprint for Maryland’s Future. When completed, the center will create 260 new seats for universal Pre-K.

A developer project to widen Albeth Road at the intersection of Marriottsville Road, as well as add a right turn lane from southbound Marriottsville Road onto Albeth, for a new housing development in Marriottsville, is expected to begin or about Monday, May 8th. Weather permitting, the project is expected to take two weeks to complete.
Howard County Bureau of Utilities to Resume Residential Water Meter Replacement Initiative
Howard County’s Department of Public Works’ Bureau of Utilities has announced it is resuming its residential water meter replacement program effective immediately. As existing water meters in the system are approaching their useful life, with some already failing resulting in the need to estimate water bills, it is vital these meters be replaced to ensure accurate and timely water usage data is obtained.

Howard County Department of Public Works to Host Public Meeting for Rogers Avenue Improvement Project
The County's Department of Public Works’ Transportation and Special Projects Division will hold a public meeting on Thursday, June 1st to present plans for a multi-modal travel improvement project along Rogers Avenue between US 40 and Courthouse Drive, which will include the widening of Rogers Avenue. Weather permitting and pending final land acquisition, the project is expected to begin this summer and take 24 months to complete.
