Howard County Executive Calvin Ball was joined by Maryland Health Care for All to host the first state-wide community forum on Prescription Drug Affordability. The forum focused on educating the public about the Board, gathering input from consumers around the state, and elevating patient stories.

Howard County Executive Seeks Nominations for Annual Veterans Day Parade Grand Marshal
Howard County Executive Calvin Ball is seeking nominations for the position of Grand Marshal for Howard County’s 8th Annual Veterans Day Parade, set to take place Sunday, November 13th at 9:30 a.m. in Downtown Columbia. In addition to seeking Grand Marshal nominations, the Howard County Veterans Foundation is also looking for community members and groups interested in sponsoring the parade, as well as community groups interested in participating in the parade.

Michaels Way Drainage Improvement Project to Begin
A Howard County construction project to improve stormwater drainage along a portion of Michaels Way in Ellicott City, is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, October 3rd. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by late February 2023.

Howard County’s Department of Public Works’ Transportation and Special Projects Division will hold a joint virtual public meeting with Montgomery County’s Department of Transportation on Wednesday, November 30th to present plans for the rehabilitation of Brighton Dam Road Bridge No. M-0229 atop Brighton Dam of the Triadelphia Reservoir.
Howard County Government Closings for Thanksgiving Holiday on November 24th and 25th
Howard County Government offices, 50+ centers, courts and more will be closed on Thursday, November 24th in observance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday. As there will be no curbside trash, recycling, yard trim or food scrap collection on Thanksgiving Day, the County’s holiday "slide” schedule will be in effect for the remainder of the week.

Howard County Department of Public Works to Host Public Meeting on Bright Passage Channel Repair
The County’s Departments of Public Works and Recreation & Parks will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, November 30th to present plans to replace a severely undermined pedestrian bridge behind 11856 Bright Passage with a new culvert and new pathway over the culvert.
