In response to the heat advisory issued by the National Weather Service, Dr. Maura J. Rossman, Howard County Health Officer, has issued a public advisory for Howard County due to continuing high temperatures. The advisory has been issued for Thursday, August 4 from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. with high temperatures expected to be in the mid-90s.

A Howard County project to construct a 2.5-million-gallon elevated water storage tank near 8490 Chase Ridge Road in Jessup, is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, August 8th. The project is not expected to impact the flow of traffic in the area; however, signs will be posted to inform residents of the project. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by mid-July 2024.

Howard County Executive Calvin Ball expressed strong support for expanding Maryland’s local public campaign finance system, and thanked the Howard County Council for adopting a remedy to correct a glitch in Howard County’s program.
