In recognition of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, Howard County Executive Calvin Ball recently joined the Howard County Commission on Disabilities to celebrate the winners of the Commission’s 2024 Employment Awards.

This $75,000 state-funded initiative aims to revitalize commercial corridors by enhancing the physical appearance of properties.

So crews can safely return the cupola and bell to the top of the Department of Recreation & Parks’ Firehouse Museum, located at 3829 Church Road in Ellicott City, Church Road between Emory Street and Main Street will be closed in both directions between the hours of 12:00 to 4:00 a.m., Friday, October 18th. Main Street between Old Columbia Pike and Court Avenue will also be closed for brief periods during this time to allow for crane operations, and parking will be restricted in the area.

The proposal fully funds Board of Education’s capital budget request for third consecutive year.

Howard County Executive Calvin Ball proposes fully funding the Board of Education’s (BOE) capital funding request for Fiscal year 2025 (FY25). In his proposed FY25 Capital Improvement Program submitted to the Howard County Council, Ball proposed $75.7 million in combined funding from the State and local government. County funding will include $61.2 million, which is the second highest in 16 years, and anticipated State aid of $14.5 million.

Howard County Executive Calvin Ball has announced that Columbia has been named Maryland’s “Best Cities to Raise a Family in America” and “Best Cities to Live in America” for 2024 by Niche. 

Ball also unveils updates to the County’s SDLP and RLF regulations, and announces $4 million commitment towards homeownership in his proposed Fiscal Year 2025 budget.

Transformational $1 million investment will assist Sheppard Pratt in constructing a new 16-bed crisis stabilization center at its Baltimore/Washington campus.
