Howard County Government Closings for Presidents’ Day on February 21st
Howard County Government offices, 50+ centers, courts and animal shelter will be closed in observance of the Presidents’ Day holiday on Monday, February 21st. There will be regular Monday trash, recycling and food scrap/yard trim services on the 21st and the Alpha Ridge Landfill will be open.

The first Howard County Complete Streets Design Manual was approved by the County Council last night, making Howard County one of only six counties nationwide with complete street design guidance in place.
Ashbrook Drive Stream Restoration Project to Begin
A Howard County construction project to reduce stream erosion and damage to an Open Space area and private property west of Ashbrook Drive in Ellicott City, is expected to begin survey work in mid- to late-October and construction work on or about Tuesday, November 1st. While the project is not expected to impact traffic flow, signs will be posted near the project area to advise motorists and pedestrians of the construction. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by late February 2023.
